Delightfully hand engraved with a romantic design of swallows and roses symbolising 'always return' and 'love'. A prettily molded circular shape it opens to hold two precious images and hangs from it's original 17 inch belcher chain. Fully hallmarked 9ct Gold in 1918 (the last year of WW1) at Chester and also carries the maker's mark for John Harrison of Tenby Street in Birmingham's famous jewellery quarter and measures an inch across. Please note that there are a couple of small breaks to the front of the locket which would have been formed when the locket was shaped. These are barely visible and testament to her age, they don't interfere with continued enjoyment of this sweet piece of jewellery.
