The Maltese cross was an emblem often worn at the time and gives this piece a superb 'historic' appearance. All mounted in the typical pinched setting of the time, the metal is high carat yellow gold and the Amethysts have a captivating translucency and sparkle. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe size and shape is good, making it a wonderful centrepiece to a collection of antique jewels. It measures 4.5cm each way and is of a substantial weight.
