A wonderful antique find, this ornate antique French silver cross dates from the 19th Century and it is known as a Croix de Saint Lô, as this was the Normandy town from which this beautiful and intricate design originatedThis lacy lovely is a typical example of delightful regional French jewellery, and is set with five large, glittery hand cut Paste gems (each with a black dot culet) in a sea of tiny shimmery hand cut stones all backed with hand cut foils to maximise their brilliance, and hanging on its own articulation is a stunning, large pear cut gem. The bale shows a French silver stamp and the whole is nice quality. An interesting historical piece with a fabulous antique impact it is all presented on a 46cm sterling sliver chain. The cross measures 4cm by 3.5cm.
