A beautiful and scarce statement gem ring featuring an unusually shimmersome fancy cut natural Aquamarine mounted in gently rose hued 18ct Gold. Very interesting to us as we’ve not had a piece like it before; inside the band are five marks which tell of its origin… 18K for the standard of the Gold: V6 for 1899: G D & CO for Gustav Dahlgren & Co: three crowns for Sweden and M for Malmo.
The design is an uncommon one for the time and we are not sure that this is not a mid-century piece made recycling an older family wedding band. With pretty Art Nouveau styled elements at the shoulders, we estimate the weight of the Aquamarine at over 7 carats and would say that the elemental sparkle is enhanced by the very clever faceting capturing the spirit of its namesake.
The ring is sized at an ‘M and a half’ or ‘6.25’ but could be sized a touch to fit.
Most of our rings can be adjusted to fit for free, this can be done on purchase by making a note in the order form if you know the size, or at a later date if it is a gift.
