A super find and in perfect original condition, this Victorian English Whitby Jet chain linked necklace and pendant. Circa 1870's and cleverly made in a linked style, the glossy polish is phenomenal. All is light and lovely to wear as Whitby Jet is such a tactile material and the smooth oval of Jet is inset with a Silver cross studded with faceted Paste sparklies. A complete and unusual design which has such a modern look but is entirely antique!
Skilfully hand carved in the famous workshops of Whitby with Jet sourced from the cliffs and beaches nearby, Whitby Jet was much worn during by women of the period particularly for mourning. We began our jewellery lives together restoring Whitby Jet jewellery and so it holds special memories for us.

The necklace measures at 17 inches and fastens with an integral clasp, the pendant hanging two inches below.
Most of our rings can be adjusted to fit for free, this can be done on purchase by making a note in the order form if you know the size, or at a later date if it is a gift.
