Date 1833 Flat Top Garnet Ring

An especially personal treasure, it would seem that this old ring was make to order as the three foiled flat topped Almandine Garnets are finely mounted onto a wedding band of 22ct yellow Gold which we can date to 1833. Garnets were such a fashionable gem at the time and had been so dating back to the 1820's, and so it may be that this older ring was re-shanked with the later wedding ring, which may well have held precious memories at the time. The beauty in the old hallmark, complete with the George IV head is really quite special and rarely seen as at the time only mourning bands and wedding rings were required to be hallmarked. In wonderful condition, this sweet little ring would be a lovely piece to have in any jewellery collection. The ring size is an 'N' or '6.5' and sizing not possible.
