A breathtakingly lovely antique early Victorian pendant in the romantic Giardinetti style, fashioned as a floral arrangement featuring a scarce antique peach hued Tourmaline, the leaves and tendrils set with an array of old hand cut Diamonds in age darkened Silver.
Created by hand, the work of a skilled artisan, this jewel reflects the fashion for naturalism in jewellery, the central gem in one of the most prettily desired pinky shades of the time and would have proudly graced parties and gatherings of the well-to-do. Each of the Diamonds is a uniquely charming work in it's own right, the stones salvaged from some earlier jewel as is oft the way, and although Pink Topazes were much loved in the early 19th century, Tourmalines were rarely seen and not much known of at the time and it was not until much later that these beautifully variegated gems were investigated and identified.
A prestige piece to add to your jewellery box and keep as a family heirloom. The combined weight of the Diamonds measures at around 0.75ct. We have weighed the Tourmaline at 4.53ct. We have paired the pendant with a vintage 9ct Gold belcher link chain which measures 18 inches and closes with a classic bolt ring clasp. The pendant measures 3.5cm lengthwise.
