Gothic Style Late Victorian Diamond and Emerald Ring

Item #07512

Dating to around the 1870's, this darling old beauty has a substantial golden presence and heartfelt 'worn and loved' feel. The squared setting is typical of the era and shows the remnants of hand engraved flourishes to the sides of the bezels which are quite enchanting. The gems are two sparkly and chunky old mine cut Diamonds with delightfully natural squared faceting following the crystalline shape of the rough Diamond either side of the verdant green Emerald which too shows wonderfully interesting crystalline inclusions within the stone. This lovely ring has no assay marks but tests as 18ct gold.

The central Emerald is a replacement stone, but as it has come to us like this, and the gemstone is a wonderful colour we are of the view that this is part of her history. The ring size is a 'P and a half' or US '7 and three quarters', but could be altered quite easily for free.
