An early Victorian mourning ring, set with a squared Rock Crystal locket section (containing a precious relic of plaited hair), bordered by delightfully gentle natural Sea Pearls on a layer of Black Onyx. The shoulders are shaped in a rich 18ct yellow gold Rococo ornamentation of shells and Acanthus leaves, ancient emblems oft seen on mourning pieces, the Acanthus said to represent the heavenly garden.
Please note that there has been repair to the Onyx. It is stable but it has cracked in two places. Scroll over the photographs on zoom to see under 20x magnification.
The ring size is around a 'U' or US '10' and can be adjusted.
