Circa 1820's, and in most wonderfully preserved condition being cared for down the generations, a floridly ornamental Rococo antique Georgian locket. A sentimental jewel, this piece holds a precious and beautifully woven section of pale blonde hair inside the locket compartment and is hand engraved to the reverse 'MEM' in the loveliest scrolling font. A memory of love preserved. All most skilfully and artistically fashioned in the style of a watch fob, with Guilloche engraving (which was immensely fashionable at the time) to the 9ct Gold backpiece. Measures 5cm lengthwise and hangs from a fab fancy loop. On a chain or a ribbon, this would make a much commented addition to any jewellery collection.
