A very beautiful and fine strand of vintage Chinese Cloisonne Enamelled beads in a wonderful warm Chestnut colourway with delightful shaded pink and blue flowers. Cloisonné is decorative enamelwork with metal filaments fused to the surface, which are then filled with coloured enamels. A very skilled traditional craft, the process of hammering, soldering, enamel-filling, firing, polishing and gilding is very time consuming and dates back over 500-years in China. The beads measure 9mm across.
The necklace measures 34 inches and fastens with a traditional Silver Gilt clasp.
