Likely bought as a souvenir on a cultural trip to Egypt in the 1920's when Egyptomania grabbed the western world after the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamen in 1922 this vintage 9ct Gold mounted ring shows a mystical Faience Scarab Beetle in a beautiful shade of faded greeny blue, the underside scribed with a cartouche. Ready to inspire your journey, the scarab beetle was a sacred symbol in Ancient Egypt, representing immortality, resurrection and transformation and Scarab beetles were often used as an amulet, seen as a guide for the afterlife.
Along with the pyramids, sphinxes, and mummies, Scarabs are one of the most familiar objects representing Egypt and have been collected for centuries.
The Scarab sits high and measures 15mm x 11mm. The ring size is an 'N and a half' or '6.25' but we can alter if required.
Most of our rings can be adjusted to fit for free, this can be done on purchase by making a note in the order form if you know the size, or at a later date if it is a gift. You can download our handy ring sizing guide here, but don't hesitate to contact us if you need further help with this. If visiting us size adjustments can usually be done in around an hour-ish.
