A captivating antique natural pink Ruby with a magical hot pink glow is mounted in a serene 18ct yellow Gold setting which has a full hallmark dating to 1915.
Likely a coveted Sri Lankan or Burmese gem because of its age, it has a warm and gentle pink colourway and is cut 'en cabochon' to emphasise the richness and wonder of this natural gemstone; from the side views there is an 'asterism', a natural star like effect which also adds to the interest and beauty.
The ring is in a classic unisex style which was popular at the time with scalloped collet reminiscent of olden Mediaeval rings and the metal has a smooth silkiness from age.
Stone: untreated natural Ruby, likely of Sri Lankan or Burmese origin judged in the setting as weighing around one carat.
Metal: 18ct yellow Gold assayed at the Birmingham Office in 1919. Weighs 4.48 grams.
Ring Size: Comfortable and familiar upon the hand, the ring size measures an 'R' or '8.5' but could be altered to suit.
