Awesome Antique Victorian Opal & Diamond Ring

A most splendid and scarce antique late Victorian crystal Opal and Diamond floral cluster ring, especially lovely and unusual. Capturing a rare magic which takes us back down the centuries to an Arts and Crafts aesthetic circa 1890's, the whole is a complete and beautiful arrangement with the opulently perennial bloom clasped between leafesque shoulders; all in rich 18ct yellow Gold. 

This ring would have been the height of fashion and interest in her day, as Crystal Opals were newly available from Australia and the fabulous gem was a fascinating diversion! All hand crafted, the artisan has sourced unusual antique hand cut Diamonds which date back to the 1600/1700's to sit as sparkly petals around the Opal... adding an extra layer of history and unforgettable allure. They really need to be seen under magnification to appreciate the unique features of their steep facets; each with its own personality. 

This is a special ring to wear with care and consideration. 

The cluster measures 13.70mm across, and as you can see in our images the magical old Opal in a high domed cabochon which gives a mystical rainbowed glow to the gem.
