The most special of finds and a wonderful piece for a collector, this antique double row Victorian period necklace of graduated hand carved peachy hued Sciacca Coral beads is a lovely find. A semi fossilised Coral found off the coast of Sicily, Sciacca Coral has an interesting story; read our BLOG about Sciacca Coral here. A necklace such as this would likely have been a souvenir from the Grand Tour when visiting Italy and fastens with its original hand made and engraved box clasp. With a We have had this necklace rethreaded. The beads vary slightly, being hand carved but measure from 2.5mm to around 5.25mm width wise.
Stones: natural Mediterranean Coral
Metal: 9ct Gold (tested but unmarked to the clasp)
Measurements: the longest row measures 18 inches, the shorter 17 inches
In most case the boxes are for display only but a nice quality modern reproduction box will accompany this piece.
