Circa 1800, a fragment of antique beauty; this ovalled rosette of glimmering Garnets is a most happy find! Capturing the opulence of Georgian society just so, it is a conversion from an earlier jewel, in which the slender 18ct Gold band to the ring has been added recently.
During the Georgian era (1714-1830) Garnets were cut thin with a large, flat table and set over foil to enhance their colour and brightness. Mounted in closed back settings to intensify their glowing appearance, especially in candlelight. Designs often featured romantic naturalistic flower and foliate motifs.
One-of-a-kind, this piece gives good finger cover; the foils laid beneath the naturally browny/pinky Garnets glowing from within with a gentle flicker... It is a ring to wear with care and reverence rather than on a daily, as she deserves to enjoy her future life.
Materials: 18ct Yellow Gold (tested but not marked) & Foiled Garnets
Ring Size: N or 6.75 and no alteration possible. The cluster measures 2cm lengthwise
Please note one of the Garnets is a slightly lighter shade than the others, noticeable but not distracting to the eye.
In most cases the boxes shown are for display only and not included in the sale. Will will send your precious jewels in a nice quality velveteen lined box.
