Quirky Trio of Georgian Seal Fobs

This very ornate trio of antique Georgian fobs dates to around 1820 when they were the literally the trendiest wear by all who could afford them. Oft worn at the waist on a longuard chain or ribbon, they showed the world your social and literary prowess at a time when correspondence was of the utmost importance. The tiny stamp could be carved with an emblem or monogram and then used to add a special significance to your wax sealed letters. 

As you know we like to see potential interest and significance in every little piece of human history, and these are an interesting conversation piece as a pendant or on a watch chain for a touch of fanciful fashion. 

This little trio consist of: a wonderful quality heavy 15ct gold seal fob, set with a shield shaped panel of white Chalcedony, ready for an initial, heraldic or family crest, a golden hued foiled Glass shield (slightly different in shape) and lastly, an oval of Chalcedony; the whole gloriously chased with an elaborate scrolled design which continues with a floral border around the panel. 

Stones: White Chalcedony and foiled 'Citrine' Glass

Metal: 15ct Gold over a metal form. 

Measurements: the all measure around 2cm tall. On the original base metal split ring with a faded gilt finish.
