Upcycled in our workshop from a heavily leaded antique 18th century 'brooch' which itself had been constructed from older parts: likely once part of a larger jewel, this antique crescent moon pendant is a nicely special piece to welcome into your jewelbox. We have created a matched pair of crescents: one for the waxing, and one for the waning moon.
Circa 1780's and hand crafted of fine Silver with evidence of her past fittings to the reverse, reflecting the taste of the time: a fascinating scintillation, the hand faceted Paste 'gems' are chunkily cut in the olden way with a darker culet to the back and then set over silvered foil for maximum glitteration when worn at the prestigious balls of the day.
Measurements: 1.5cm lengthwise to the crescent and the 18ct Gold plated Silver chain is 18 inches in length. The rings are 9ct Gold.
The pastes do have some abrasions to the top facets but are still immensely sparkly!
