A rare and most adorably lustrous pair of antique Georgian era natural Pearl bead earrings, quite the loveliest creamy smoothness to their surface and hand sewn as sweet flowers to perch upon the earlobes!
Circa 1820's, each scarce naturally occurring hand dived Oyster Pearl hand drilled (likely in India) to create a bead and then hand sewn onto a cut out circlet of mother of pearl shell. Adorable and so many skilled task involved to bring them to life!
'Something Old', they are perfect for a vintage bride; and are likely of Continental origin as they have 'back to front' Continental fittings which are inserted from the back of the earlobe. Easy when you get the knack.
Stones: wild (naturally occurring) Sea Pearls
Metal: 18ct yellow Gold (tested but unmarked).
Measurements: 14mm from the top of the wire fitting to the base of the flower.
In most cases the boxes are for display only but a nice quality modern reproduction box will accompany this piece.
