Beautiful 1880's Victorian Japonaiserie Silver Locket

The sweetest antique charm! Circa 1880's and displaying naturalistic inspirations seen in Eastern arts that were soooo fashionable at the time, this piece is of Silver and crafted (likely in one of the workshops in Birmingham's famous jewellery quarter) with molded and hand engraved elements giving a gorgeous three dimensional effect which is just delightful. This splendid Victorian Silver locket is so wonderfully decorative, with an Ivy design symbolising the 'ties of LOVE' around the central hand engraved panel. It does still hold to original photographs (and a very sweet message) which can easily be swapped out for your chosen keepsake. 

The paper inside reads; 

'To Elizabeth Holland, on her seventeenth birthday. But before all adorning, keep ever bright the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit which is in the sight of God of great price by her affectionate parents. J A Holland November 1st 1880.'

Remaining in excellent condition despite 150 years, it measures one and a half inches lengthwise without the bale and closes with a pleasing 'click' to keep those precious photographs safe. We can provide a suitable Silver chain if desired.
