A beautiful and interesting pair of vintage handmade Cannetille earrings crafted in rich high carat gleaming Gold, designed to be worn both with and without the exquisite pendant drops, know as "night and day" earrings. Crafted by hand this kind of very fine thread Gold work is considered to be a symbol of Portuguese history as it has been produced by skilled artisan jewellers there for centuries and represents a rich cultural heritage.
They have 'back to front' fittings as is traditional
Metal: 19.2ct The "800" mark to the fittings signifies that the gold content is 800 parts per 1000, meaning 80% of the metal is pure gold. The squared shape of the stamp signifies Porto origin
Measurements: They hang one and a half inches from the top wire
