Fine and lovesome, this antique late Victorian period Turquoise and Rose cut Diamond pendant fashioned by hand shaped as a pear drop. In the Victorian lore of romancing gems, the Turquoise is associated with the Forget-me-not flower and symbolised fondness and True Love. This all adds a charming meaning to the piece and so as a gift makes for a treasured story.
The fabulous quality 'Robin's Egg' colour natural Turquoise is likely from the old Persian mines at Khorosan (nowadays Iran). Beautifully bright and glossy, it is framed by a pretty and glittery border of eighteen olden hand cut Diamonds which would have been recycled in the making of this jewel.
Once hanging from a stick pin, we have added a large jump ring made from this pin so as to preserve integrity and present her upon an 20 inch 9ct Yellow Gold belcher chain. The pendant measures 13mm lengthwise excluding the ring fittings.
