Circa 1890, a most special and fine antique Victorian five pointed star and crescent moon brooch which can also be worn as a pendant on the loop to the reverse. Skilfully hand crafted in quality 15ct yellow Gold, a standard which was used solely in Britain between the years of 1854-1932 and for better quality jewellery. It is said such brooches were known as 'Honeymoon' and oft gifted on or before the wedding: both a romantic and original thought...
Encrusted with miniature creamy lustred half natural Pearls which a finely graduated in size; a true delight which captures a sweetly intricate delicacy much beloved at the time (particularly as a romantic wedding gift) and which still holds her charm today.
It can be worn on either a silk ribbon or a chain as a necklace.
Stones: split half natural Saltwater Pearls
Metal: 15ct yellow Gold (tested but unmarked)
Measurements: measures a touch over one inch across. The pin end is covered by an enclosure which is nice touch for safety reasons.
Presented in the original antique silk and velveteen lined case which box will accompany this piece.
