A fabulous, rare and dare we say unique antique solid 15ct Yellow Gold gent's signet ring dating to the 1840's/50's or so and in the decorative Rococo style which was very much en vogue at the time. It is hand carved with floral and acanthus leaves decoration and the shield shaped front is hand engraved with what we believe is a crest depicting “Argent, a saltire, between four roses, Gules” (four Roses divided by a Saltire Cross (Tudor Rose). 15ct Gold was a standard used in the UK between 1854-1932 for better quality jewellery and there are two old assay marks of a lion rampant and a crown inside the head.
It weighs 9.87 grams and is sized at a 'W' or '11' as is but could altered a little to fit if you leave a message on your order form. Please note it has a latterly applied hallmark for 14ct Gold, as 15ct is no longer a standard in the UK.
