A Majestic Marquise-Shaped Antique Early Victorian Diamond Brooch
A rare and unforgettable antique early Victorian rose-cut Diamond brooch. The shape is a glittering marquise shaped starburst from a central floral panel, and this is a brooch which deserves to be loved again; is worthy of being handed down through the generations again and being brought out to wear on special occasions.
Circa 1840's, the whole has an exquisite delicacy of patina which has developed over the years which adds a darkly dramatic background to the subtle sparkle of the hand-cut Diamonds and the high points of the finely constructed silver lacework which gleams beautifully.
Measuring 4cm end to end and complete with safety chain and pin, this splendid piece could be worn as a pendant too, as there is a jump ring bale at the end of the longest point through which a chain can be threaded.
