A most unusual and charming antique Victorian coin purse; for taking to a ball along with your dance card. Meticulously crafted and remaining in wonderful condition, your small change (guineas and shillings &c) will be guarded by two snakes. The chain maille mesh is beautifully fine and slinky, terminating in small beads which dangle nicely adding to the sinuous effect, and there is a ring by which to hang on your chatelaine or a chain.
A quirky little gift for the fan of antiquery.
Metal: Silver, tested but unmarked.
Measurements: 8.5cm by 6cm
In most cases the boxes are for display only but a nice quality modern reproduction box will accompany this piece.
