Circa 1870's and all original, this super quality antique 15ct Gold locket would once have held great emotional significance to her owner as a sentimental jewel and a tangible link to a fond family member. The mystory of who the locket belonged to two generations ago or whom the finely hand painted miniature is of will likely remain such, but we are deeply touched by the emotion captured; the second compartment holds a lock of her hair decorated by a wild Pearl and twisted gold wire. The locket has a nice weight and feels smoothly familiar in the hand, aspects which give a more poignant presence to the whole...
Measurements: it measures a touch over 4cm lengthwise excluding the bale
Metal: 15ct Gold (tested but not marked). This standard was used solely in Britain between the years of 1854-1932
