Dating to 1899, an antique blue Moonstone ring glowing with an ethereal aura which shimmers as light passes over the domed cabochon gem. Mounted in 15ct Gold in the refined Arts & Crafts manner with naturalesque elegance to the shoulders this gorgeous natural gemstone has a superior adularescence which would lead us to think that the stone has a Sri Lankan origin. Associated with many a mystique and with its links to its namesake, the Moonstone holds a feminine allure both protective and dreamy.
Stone: blue Moonstone cabochon which we have had re polished to a wonderful gloss by our clever Lapidarist.
Metal: 15ct Yellow Gold hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office in 1899. 15ct Gold was a standard used solely in Britain between the years of 1854-1932. Weighs 2.79 grams.
In most cases the boxes are for display only but a nice quality modern reproduction box will accompany this piece.
