Once precious, a tiny memory of a love passed, this olden Georgian mourning ring is a miraculous survivor from around two centuries past. Worn to remember; and keep a loved one close, it is crafted in 18ct Gold with Rococo styled shoulders either side of the central black enamelled urn which holds a tiny crystal topped locket edged by an Acanthus frame.
The symbolism and meaning associated with the Acanthus is that of enduring life, and the plant is traditionally displayed at funerary celebrations. Acanthus symbolizes immortality in Mediterranean countries.
The ring size is a 'K' or '5.25' as is, we'd rather not tamper with this. Please note there is a small amount of damage to the lower edge of the enamel but commensurate with age.
Most of our rings can be adjusted to fit for free, this can be done on purchase by making a note in the order form if you know the size, or at a later date if it is a gift. You can download our handy ring sizing guide here, but don't hesitate to contact us if you need further help with this. If visiting us size adjustments can usually be done in around an hour-ish.
