A most poignant and endearing antique Georgian era fichu or lace pin style brooch dating to around 1800. Kept safe down the centuries and generations since her original significance has long been lost but we believe such jewels can still hold that meaning today; feelings of love and loss are after all part of the human condition.
The OUROBOROS (snake eating its tail) is an ancient symbol used in many cultures and signifies unity, the circle of life, transformance and rebirth.
Beautifully neat, the miniature seed Pearls oft symbolise tears... such precious keepsakes were once a comfort in mourning, pinned to your breast keeping the loved one close to your heart.
Stones: split natural Pearls and Rock Crystal/Glass.
Metal: 18ct yellow Gold, tested but unmarked.
Measurements: it measures 2cm across.
