Dating to 1908, an antique Emerald and Diamond ring in the classic five stone half hoop design which was very much beloved at the time. A restful presence; the verdant Emeralds are of fine quality with a clear deep foresty hue and the twinkling olden Diamonds which are set between were cut by hand and still retain traces of their original crystalline shape. So interesting, and a unique choice which is ethically sound too as no new resources are needed to bring this joyful jewel to a new life!
The pleasing tapered shaping of the band of 18ct Gold feels familiar and gently smoothed with age. The highly decorative hand carved shoulders belie an Arts & Crafts influence and the charming open work sideview a somewhat Mediaeval gothicism.
Stones: natural Emerald and Diamond.
Metal: 18ct yellow Gold hallmarked at the Birmingham Office in 1908.
Ring Size: K or 5.25 as is but suitable to alter for fit. This is a free service, just leave a message on your order form.
In most cases the boxes are for display only but a nice quality modern reproduction box will accompany this piece.
