An antique Victorian era Silver locket and chain, nicely decorated to each side with lovely hand engraved details in the Aesthetic Revival taste to capture a moment in fashion which took Eastern arts as an inspiration after Japan first showed at the Great Exhibition in 1851. The engraving depicts Rose (for LOVE) to one side, and Forget-me-nots and Ivy (for the ties of LOVE) to the other. What could be more fitting to express your fondness?!
Shaped to resemble in INRO: an inrō (印籠, literally "stamp case") is a traditional Japanese container used to carry small personal items. This piece is of Sterling Silver with the original frames intact inside to hold safe your precious keepsakes.
Metal: Sterling Silver, tested but without marks.
Measurements: the locket measures 3.5cm lengthwise excluding the bale. The faceted belcher link Silver chain with a chunky bolt ring measures 18 inches.
