Antique Victorian Five Stone Diamond Engagement Ring

A lovesome antique Diamond engagement ring in the half hoop design which was beloved at the time. Dating to around the 1880's/90's and a nicely preserved example ready for a new start!

Such an incredibly sparkly display; these five old hand cut Diamonds date from the mid 19th century. Unique, like trembling drops of water, the tiniest space between each cushion shaped stone, finely graduated in side to the edges of the finger; the combined weight we have measured at one carat (conservatively judged with a Schindler gauge). The beauty of the light which is refracted from the hand cut facets is magical, just imagine how these would originally have twinkled in candlelight! Each of the stones was cut from a single Diamond crystal in sympathy with the original earth borne beauty, plump in profile and oh, so captivating.... the romantic drama of nature! A wonderful and original choice as an engagement or anniversary ring, you'll never see another exactly the same. 

The finely crowned setting of 18ct Gold was made by hand in a cathedralesque mood and this rests upon the chunky rounded tapered band and sits neatly next to an antique wedding band.
