In a Georgian revivalist style, this antique Victorian necklet dates to the latter 19th century and still perfectly brings a feeling of quiet bucolic romance to mind today.
The gently translucent natural green Tourmalines centre a delicious concoction, the gleamingly verdant hand faceted gems are mounted in traditional Georgian crimped pie crust style; we can see under magnification that each section was filed by hand. Beautiful work!
Likely passed down the generations, all antique jewels have a history and we feel it might once have been centrepiece to a larger riviere style necklace, given a lighter setting on the chain at a later time.
Ideally worn at picnics or floating down the river...
Stones: natural Green Tourmaline.
Metal: 9ct yellow Gold. Tested but unmarked. The chain can easily be shortened to suit if required.
Measurements: the pendant measures one inch from the top to base; the 9ct Gold trace chain measures 18 inches.
In most cases the boxes are for display only but a nice quality modern reproduction box will accompany this piece.
