The most ubiquitous of all Georgian jewels; the lace or fichu pin was worn throughout society to fasten (ficher) the lacy kerchief worn around the neckline and shoulders.
This little flower design set with flat topped pinky Almandine Garnets is a very sweet trinket which would likely have been given as a gift, the romance of the flowerette motif adding a sentimentality which the giftee would have held close.
As there was a ring in situ we have removed the pin so she can be worn as a locket pendant; the centre glassed circlet taken out to place ones smallest treasures as it is hinged and opens as a box would. Such delightfully small and careful work!
