A very cute and highly collectable comet shaped pin made in the latter Georgian era in celebration of the appearance of Halley's Comet in 1835 (named for the astronomer royal Edmund Halley who discovered its orbit in 1705). Set with hand faceted foiled Paste gems and of Gilded Silver it is an adorable little point of interest on a lapel or hat and as a quirky piece of Georgianalia would make a really unique gift.
A miniature marvel, it measures just 2cm end to end.
