Dating to the mid 19th century, an Egyptian Scarab ring, a powerful talisman believed to protect the wearer and in ancient cultures represent rebirth and renewal. In ancient Egypt jewelry was worn both the living and in the afterlife for adornment, power, and as amulets.
Hand formed of dark turquoisey green glazed faience to show the details of the beetle and mounted in rich 18ct yellow Gold which would have originally been formed of a twisted design, it has the drilled hole for wearing as a bead which can just be seen to the 'front' where the Gold setting clasps inside, and tripartite Lotus flowers carved to the reverse.
We believe the scarab itself dates to early times and was likely bought by a tourist or enthusiast of Egyptalia. A very special piece which could well become a family heirloom; a tiny size as is, we can adjust to suit if you leave a message on your order form. The Scarab measures 1cm by 8mm.
If you'd like to pay for this piece in instalments, our Layaway Terms can be read here.
Most of our rings can be adjusted to fit for free, this can be done on purchase by making a note in the order form if you know the size, or at a later date if it is a gift. You can download our handy ring sizing guide here, but don't hesitate to contact us if you need further help with this. If visiting us size adjustments can usually be done in around an hour-ish.
