Very special and a sparkling luvliness upon the finger which captivates the heart, this vintage one carat Diamond solitaire engagement ring is handmade, from the faceting of the gem to the crafting of the setting. Quite splendid. A super choice for the ecologically conscious as well as those looking for originality and hand crafted beauty. In the latter 1930's style with harmonious curves and a restrainedly simple and now classic design.
A joy to rehome an older Diamond which was cut in the 'Old European' manner which was common at the turn of the earlier century; the gem has a warm glow and shimmer with a rounded profile and larger facets than are commonly cut nowadays. Perfectly imperfect, the old (European Cut) Diamond which spans a good one carat has natural inclusions which would have been formed with the Diamond a billion years ago and which can be seen in our magnified photographs and with a 10x lens but not under everyday conditions.
Mounted in a finely shaped Platinum coronet with feature double claws and delightfully beaded shoulders set with tiny twinkles, the band is beautifully created in 18ct Yellow Gold. Inside the band is hand inscribed the mysterious message 'B.J.D 13.3.1936', we'll likely never know her tale but it's just enough to appreciate her immense beauty once again and make a new story.
The ring size is an 'N' or '6.5' but can be altered to suit quite easily in our workshop. Simply leave us a message on your order form.
Most of our rings can be adjusted to fit for free, this can be done on purchase by making a note in the order form if you know the size, or at a later date if it is a gift.
