Georgian Style Foiled Emerald & Diamond Ring

A hand crafted vintage ring in the Georgian style, a tribute to the much beloved romantic mood when all jewels were hand made and as such carried a special cache for their rarity and beauty. With a sumptuous naturalism, the gorgeous green natural Emerald (Beryl), weighing over a carat is accompanied to the sides by a pair of unique sparkling antique cushion-cut Diamonds, all set in a 'pie crust' Silver setting which has been dutifully made as were the original 18th century rings. Set over foil, the Emerald casts an extra golden glow (so it is not to be submerged in water), and the pair of antique hand faceted natural Diamonds add a touch of olden glister. 

Traditional scallop shell backs and fancy shoulders provide the finishing touches to this very special Georgian style jewel. It likely dates from the mid-20th century, and is more than likely of Dutch origin; and as you'll never see an original outside of a museum, we decided that this Georgian Revival creation was as close as we could get to holding such a piece!

Stones: natural untreated Emerald and Diamonds; both hand cut. The gems were recycled in the making of this ring. 

Metal: 18ct yellow Gold to the band and under setting; Silver to the settings. Neither is marked. 

Ring Size: O or 7 and unsuitable for alteration.

In most cases the boxes are for display only but a nice quality modern reproduction box will accompany this piece.
