A museum quality treasure worthy of any serious jewellery collector... or simply a lover of beauty, this immensely lovely antique Georgian Diamond ring is over two hundred years old and remains as captivating as the day it was made.
A prized beauty, this is a rare find and a serious piece of jewellery history. Dating to the turn of the 19th century, a tapered band half set with three rows of splendid glimmery old hand cut Diamonds. The scalloped style silver setting holds twenty-eight stones in all, every delightful stone slightly different to it's neighbour as is the charming way that gems were cut at the time, in harmony with their natural crystalline shaping. Desirably sparkly, the chunky old Diamonds across the centre twinkle as stars, the tiny Silver points of the setting accenting the effect. The whole is handmade and still in pristine condition, prettily shaped across the finger the Diamonds are in the typical closed back cut down settings and lined with Gold to the inside of the band.
We have estimated the weight of the stones using a Schindler Gauge; the centre row totals approximately 0.96ct and the two outer bands 0.33cts each (combined weight of around 1.65ct). A broad setting, the high carat Gold band tapers from 1cm at the front to 4mm at the centre back. The ring size is a 'Q and a half' or US '8' and no adjustment is possible.
