A really unusual and hand worked antique Rose Gold gem ring featuring an icy white Zircon and likely made, we believe in Sri Lanka (Ceylon as was) for the British market during or after British rule which ceased in 1948 after independence. We have seen similar rings set with indigenous gemstones such as natural Sapphires, Zircons, Topazes etc; Ceylon was the greatest source of natural gems which were initially found in riverbed gravels.
All hand crafted; the delightful curvature of the scrolled design to the setting is influenced by the Art Nouveau Movement which was and is still a great passion of artists working in all genres.
Stone: white Zircon which has the same refractive index as Diamond and so is monumentally sparkly! The stone has small scuffs to the surface which you'll see in our magnified images but this doesn't spoil her fabulous impact!
Metal: Crafted in 14ct Gold, tested but unmarked. Weighs 3.24 grams
Ring Size: the ring size could be altered a little to suit but measures an 'P' or '7.5' as is.
Most of our rings can be adjusted to fit for free, this can be done on purchase by making a note in the order form if you know the size, or at a later date if it is a gift. You can download our handy ring sizing guide here, but don't hesitate to contact us if you need further help with this. If visiting us size adjustments can usually be done in around an hour-ish.
