Antique Historical Revival Victorian Cameo Earrings

As a subtle signifier of your appreciation of history, culture and the Arts; what could be finer? This antique late Victorian pair of shell cameo earrings carry all the intrigue of stories past; the gentle ovals of hand carved shell representing inspiring goddesses of either Grecian or Roman origin.  

Created in a gold coloured base metal imitating Gold (read about some of these alloys here) they date to the 1870's or thereabouts. On replacement 9ct Gold ear wires with a neat safety mechanism, they measure 4cm from the ear wire to the base, and the ear drops 2.2 by 1.7cm.
