An enchanting creation, one we can imagine worn by Proserpine in the portrait by Rossetti... in the Arts & Crafts mood, capturing the wild beauty of natural gems encased in twisted gold wire cages set at intervals along the chain. The Emeralds have a gorgeous variation rich with their characteristic 'jardin' inclusions; the quirkily shaped wild Pearls would have been found in river mussels (a protected species nowadays) and have a baroque shape and gentle lustre. Just so touchingly beautiful and all original dating to around 1900.

Measurements: the chain measures 17 inches and closes with a hand made barrel clasp
In most case the boxes are for display only but a nice quality modern reproduction box will accompany this piece.
