A magical trio of pinky/grey/blue Star Sapphires set in a simply beautiful arrangement in this hand made vintage ring. Each of the cabochon gems has a mysterious gleaming 'asterism' when turned in the light... so interesting!
Similar rings we have seen were made in Sri Lanka during the 1940's. The gemstones would have been indigenous to the island, examples of the natural 'gravel' gemstones to be found in riverbeds etc in Ceylon as it was when under British rule in fact, it is estimated 90% of the island is composed of gem-bearing Pre-Cambrian rock) and this piece is a wonderful find of its type.
Star Sapphires have a long and fascinating history of being highly coveted and prized as very special and unique gemstones. Their special feature called asterism lends an added mystical element, and many throughout time have felt a special connection to these stones. The Natural Sapphire Co.

Ring Size: P and a half or 8, can be adjusted to suit
In most case the boxes are for display only but a nice quality modern reproduction box will accompany this piece.
