A precious fragment of beauty capturing an enchanting and romantic subject, depicting a young courting couple surrounded by nature's rhapsody. Circa 1750's-90's, a charming delicately hand painted Swiss enamel with gorgeous bright but soft colours framed by a fine engraved Gold inset and further by individually hand cut foiled Paste 'gems'. Notice the way each is cut by hand to fit; extraordinary work and a perennial beauty to treasure further down the years...
We're uncertain as to whether this piece was made as is or the enamel was commissioned and set later into a buckle as we've never seen such an unusual piece. However the longer we look it seems to be all of a piece; either way it is an historic jewel to please a tender heart, compelling and one-of-a-kind.
With a tactile and smooth shaping she is presented on an inky blue pure silk ribbon as she would have been worn in her time.
