A most handsome antique 15ct Gold and Carnelian seal style signet ring dating to 1874 and in the Gothic Revivalist style advocated by Augustus Pugin which was tremendously fashionable at the time with hand incised cathedralesque designs to the shoulders. A compelling and tangible piece of artistic history, this ring is dated with a full hallmark applied at the Birmingham Assay Office alongside the maker's mark for Samuel Usher of Vyse St in Birmingham's famed jewellery quarter.  

The gentle rounded oval shape of the antique signet ring flatters the hand and accompanied by the smoothness of the gleaming 15ct Gold makes for a wonderful familiarity. We have had the russetty Carnelian re-polished by our lapidarist to restore the glossy shine in preparation for a new future.

Stones: Russet Carnelian, an indigenous 'pebble' gem oft found in the Highlands of Scotland

Metal: 15ct Gold dated to 1874 with a full hallmark for 15ct Gold (a standard used solely in Britain between the years of 1854-1932) applied at the Birmingham Assay Office. It weighs 5.2 grams

Ring Size: S or 9 but could be altered somewhat to suit. 

Measurements: the stone measures half an inch lengthways

The original antique leather and silk velvet box will accompany this piece.
